Ys Net has revealed during today's #SaveShenmueHD Tweetathon that crowdfunding for Shenmue III has now passed the $6.6 million mark.

You can add to this total and aid the ongoing development of the game by pre-ordering your copy with PayPal at shenmue.link/order, along with any of the other goodies available to Slacker Backer participants.

The Tweetathon continues throughout the day, keeping up the pressure to re-release Shenmue 1 & 2 on modern day systems.

To participate, simply post a message on Twitter using the hashtag (eg: tinyurl.com/shenmuetweet) and retweet other fans who are doing the same (see: tinyurl.com/shenmuetweets).

Spread the word and be heard on the 3rd!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in yesterday's #SaveShenmueHD Tweetathon, keeping the demand for re-releases of Shenmue 1 & 2 at the front of people's minds with your tweets throughout the day - including this photo shared by Marcelo of his tattoo depicting the Four Wude!

The next Tweetathon, if you're not familiar with the schedule by now, is set for June 3rd. This will be around a week and a half before E3, so a great opportunity to make yourselves heard before (almost) the entire industry converges in one spot for gaming's biggest trade show of the year.

At last year's momentous E3 the efforts of the fervent Shenmue fan base paid off big time with the long overdue announcement of Shenmue III. Could lightning now strike in the same place twice? If yesterday's display was anything to go by, the odds certainly can't be described as astronomical anymore.
