Yu Suzuki interview with RedBull.com
« on: February 10, 2016, 04:49:18 AM »

Today we have two great links to share that not only Shenmue fans but all fact-friendly gamers will benefit from checking out.

First of all we’re very impressed with this article by Red Bull Games, featuring brand new prototype screenshots along with comments from Yu Suzuki about Shenmue III (and IV), with even a bonus cameo from NoconKid.

And if you have eight minutes and ten seconds to spare, we also recommend this engaging video with YouTuber Adam Koralik, Shane Luis (a/k/a Rerez), and Shenmue documentary producer Adam Sipione, addressing some of the inaccurate reporting that recently surrounded the new game’s PayPal Slacker Backer campaign:

With a new teaser planned for the MAGIC Monaco convention later this month, the positive coverage for Shenmue III ought to continue, inviting new fans to discover the series that has driven so many so crazy for so long. Welcome to the nut house - stay a while! Stay forever…

Redbull is a good supporter of Shenmue 3, so far. Well done!

Great to see such a positive story from Red Bull.  Perhaps a Shenmue themed kart at the next Red Bull Soap Box races? Joy and Ryo on a motorcycle?  ;D

I hate to be picky though - the story does have a few inaccuracies. 20 years old...hmm well closeish.  Developed in the 90s...Well obviously  :-\ Sorry I'm turning it to such a fan boy these days!

What about the possibility of a Red Bull vending machine in Shennue 3? Of course it doesn't fit in terms of context, but I doubt sponsorship finances would be turned down for in game product representation.

It could be used to make QTE's easier by "sharpening Ryo's reflexes" (think bullet time).

Heey. I use these 2 extremely sexy thumbs, with 8 fingers supporting the cellular device, to type my own uniquely eye catching tweet every 3rd of the month.

Auto-tweet? Pfft. That's the lazy option.  :P

It could be used to make QTE's easier by "sharpening Ryo's reflexes" (think bullet time).

The problem with that though is that totally rips off Yakuza. Even if Red Bull pumped 5 million into Shenmue 3 for that asset alone, you know fans would absolutely crucify YS.net for that.

The main purpose of the autotweet was to emulate the thunderclap we used to do, which got its name from so many going off simultaneously for massive impact. The idea is to supplement your regular non lazy tweets with the lazy thunderclappy mob each month. The more the merrier, brotherman!
