Sega's Next Move?

So what are we a little over 45 hours into the campaign, $3,073,734 pledged from 39,151 backers to helpmake the project 153% funded - that I think is amazing - whats more when you consider that Shenmue sold 1.2 Million units on dreamcast alone there is a potential 1,160,849 people left ;) though it would be dreaming to assume that every person who bought Shenmue is still a fan today...

The campaign is unfortunately slowing now, but it doesnt change the fact that this is the Fastest Game to a Million, the Fastest Game to 2 Million and I wouldnt be surprised at the end if it is the highest funded game, So with all this information, facts, figures and evidence, whats Sega's next move?

For years we have asked, and for years they have said no, it not wanted, its not financially viable, just stick with Sonic Fans - he safe, despite the fact that at one time year after year we were getting shit sonic games - It would be naive to think there isnt someone at Sega scratching there head thinking yeah we really dropped the ball on this one... ooops

You know full well that they are going to be getting something from this. it is after all still there franchise. I wouldnt be surprised id based on the kickstarter they offer something... but do you think they will ride the coattails of this and release Shenmue I + II HD? more importantly do you think they will listen to the fans more and be now open to Skies 2, a new Shining? More Yakuza?

I can only imagine they're drafting up a Sonic Adventure 3 Kickstarter while I type this.

Actually, so would I. Sonic Adventure 2 was the last decent Sonic game, Well, I mean Generations was okay... but it wasn't Sonic Adventure.

I'd like to see more new titles from Dreamcast franchises. New iterations of Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia... All good to me.

One hopes that they see the sense behind the HD remakes. But could they do it 100% without input from the Shenmue team? Only thing worse for Shenmue popularity amongst the wider gaming community then no Shenmue 1+2 would be bad Shenmue 1+2.

A quality HD re-release wouldn't require the original team to be involved.
