If you're a fan who's been waiting fourteen years for the chance to make Shenmue III a reality, then we have every faith that you're giving what you reasonably can to the Kickstarter while it lasts. So we're not here today to lift you by the ankles till your pockets are empty, or lean on you to raise your pledge by another #29onthe29th.

With the crowdfunding deadline growing nearer, we know that if you can afford to donate more, you will. But if you've reached your limit, then what we'd like to share with you is a more thrifty solution. A different angle on the matter that just might make sense to the moths in your wallet.

Between now and December 2017, the gamers in your life will have birthdays, Christmases, or other holidays where presents are customary. You could wait until then and splash out on something you merely hope they'll like. Or for $29 on Kickstarter now, you could pre-order them a copy of Shenmue III, the current gen sequel to a series that revolutionized gaming and changed lives.

Crucially it's not money you weren't already going to spend, and you'll be spreading the love of Shenmue to new fans in the process, securing the viability of Shenmue IV.

For each extra copy you wish to order, all you need is a new Kickstarter account. And when you pledge those 29 bucks from scratch, you'll be increasing the visible number of backers, heightening the chances of Sega agreeing to release Shenmue 1 & 2 in HD before 3 is released.

So if this option works for you, do it today. Or tomorrow. Or any time before July 17th.

Save your budget from breaking, save yourself from gift shopping, and #SaveShenmue 1-4 while you're at it.

Any word of what the auto tweet will say on Friday? I would like to know before it goes out. Thanks.

It will be posted here before the event, and as you're concerned agamil, I will also email you directly. Hopefully you'll then understand why it's taken some time. :)

In light of today's announcement the AutoTweet's message was changed to:

Quote
Announced today! #PS4 physical copy of Shenmue 3 when you pledge $60 or more on Kickstarter! Help us #SaveShenmue at http://bit.ly/saveshenmue!

As you were concerned about vetting the precise message beforehand agamil, we temporarily disabled yours so that the new version wouldn't go out without your re-approval.

The magic weather warning was right! The day already really has been a storm of Shenmue, and there's a literal thunder storm in London right now too!

Thanks and congratulations to everyone who participated today, it was an honor tweeting alongside you all.

Thanks for thinking of me like that. The wording was absolutely fine really. While I would have wanted to take part in the autotweet, I'm glad that I was tweeting throughout the day anyway.

By the way, it's not really a case of not trusting your judgement. Just like to know what gets tweeted before it gets tweeted. Sometimes there can be something that may not occur to someone as an issue.

Was a good day's tweeting yesterday :) A good jump in the pledged money too. Not as much as we were all hoping for but every little helps. Well, feels funny calling about $400,000 in one day a "little" but you get what I mean :D
