Campaigning at IGN Convention
« on: November 22, 2014, 07:47:01 AM »
Please join us in saluting Khalid Al-Shuwayer‎, who used his ticket to the ongoing IGN Convention in Dubai to spread the word about the campaign to #SaveShenmue.

Khalid posted the following in the Shenmue500K Facebook group:

Quote
Hey guys I just got back from the IGN Convention and guess what??
Many people wanted Shenmue 3 & even people took photos of me & even all the people were looking at my board, to be honest there were few people that wanted Half-Life 3 instead of Shenmue 3, and there 3 people that said that Shenmue 3 will never be made. And here is the great thing that also happened, two men that have close connections with Sega were surprised with my Shenmue 3 campaign so they also took a photo of me and they sent the photos to their friends in Sega. Even many people don't know what Shenmue is, I introduced them to it & it seemed that they like it. Let's all hope that Shenmue 3 will happen shortly with all attention in public that happened today. This is exactly the kind of hands-on, can-do attitude that we applaud when it comes to raising awareness of the campaign and going the extra mile. Khalid's efforts on their own won't bring about Shenmue III, but they may form part of a ripple effect and should inspire more of us to seize every opportunity to contribute in whatever way we can.

We all shoulder the responsibility of pressing the issue upon the games industry until it cannot be overlooked, and Khalid has set a great example to be followed. We want to see more of this hands-on approach from Shenmue fans around the world, promoting the campaign in their own ways. It doesn't matter if it's a full page ad in a national paper or a letter in your school magazine, so long as you're doing your bit to help.

Because Shenmue ain't gonna save itself.
