The fervent demand for Shenmue was acknowledged this week by Scott Rohde, PlayStation Software Product Development Head for Sony Worldwide Studios America.

Tweeting on Wednesday night (San Diego time), Rohde admitted that he's "Sure getting a lot of #SaveShenmue love over the last month. I'll say one thing... you guys sure are persistent! :)"

The message generated a strong response in social media and garnered attention from gaming sites in different parts of the world:

We're treating Scott's comments as nothing more than a polite hat tip, but it's always encouraging to see more new evidence of this campaign reaching the eyes and ears of influential people within the industry. You never know who might be instrumental in giving Yu Suzuki the break that he so richly deserves in his quest to bring Shenmue to its rightful conclusion.

This Monday is November 3rd, which means it's time once again for the monthly #SaveShenmue Tweetathon. Please use the hashtag and join us in spreading the message far and wide in this all-day event. You can even preload your tweet at in case you forget by Monday!

Take this opportunity to stand and be counted. Team Yu needs YOU to ensure the string of significant figures in the games industry reached by the Shenmovement, already including Shuhei Yoshida, Phil Spencer, and Sony's Third Party Productions team, doesn't end with Scott Rohde. The momentum just keeps on building and that's thanks to the continued efforts of hardcore and casual fans alike in this co-ordinated effort to #SaveShenmue. So this Monday, spread the word and be heard on the 3rd!

I'm trying not to read too much into this, but I noticed how he acknowledged us without saying anything along the lines of "there's nothing we can do about it" or "you're asking the wrong people". I think we'll be hearing something soon. I HOPE we'll be hearing something soon.

At this point, all I want is to see Shenmue get re-released. If it came to PS4, I'd be ordering one as soon as it was announced. Let its sales figures do the talking.

Probably is just a hat-tip... but I can't help getting my hopes up. Even though I know I shouldn't.
