Seen so many Autumn leaves recently
or more like flowers
Even in winter they persist
like it's catching the glow of the sun rising through the woods
From the east
so bright it makes me squint like clint
This kami a strange contradiction
unnatural
the glare
But it's not about this fakeness that I care
It's your overwhelming honesty that I do
Inspiring me to be realer than your hair

Best floetry i've seen in quite some time, brodo. And that's Orson Welles from Citizen Kane, Jaywalker.

Worth highlighting this Shenmue poem I reckon.

The Facebook-phobic can read it here
The Flame of a Home I Have Never Been.
By Sassi Lee

There are things I've left unfinished
There are things I haven't done
There's an echo in my heart and mind
Of a song I once heard sung
Had I known the path would be so long
I'd still have walked its trail
As I've done so many times before
And never will I fail
To retrace the steps his father left
Now trodden black with vengeance
The rain will soon wash clear again
As his way leads to transcendence
One day we'll see through blurry eyes
A light shine through the doorway
Until then spirits are our guides
And the hurt we feel, friends will allay
We've travelled far, have seen some things
That we never could have guessed
This boy will take us further still
When one day we'll advance his quest
There is more to this, I do not doubt
From home to far across the sea
And never will I lose my faith
That Ryo's life was made for me
Perfecting moves, we've heard the words
Spoken by our elders
Sage advice and wisdom truth
Affords our patience needed shelter
The friends we've all met, lost and loved
We know their faces and their stories
Heard words of comfort, and of pain
Seen his failures, lived his glories
So until the time has come to step
On out into the light
We'll keep his journey in our minds
And continue with the fight
And though I may complain that I
Have not yet met the end
I'll keep on fighting in his style
On that you can depend

Winter breeze
singing an atmospheric tune
like free 1 from Shenmue
oppressive sounds feel more tangible in the blackness of the night
I wish they wouldn't
Too close to the cold nature of the outside
frostbitten lives don't get thawed
they end up ignored
we need more fire
Been too much bloodfire
there's so much ire
in this supposed season to be irie
on baked street we end up distracted and brains addled
hoping to find solace in the pursuit of Irene
