About fan-driven donations
« on: October 21, 2014, 06:33:30 AM »

Just a concerned reminder that anyone who would take your money "to fight for Shenmue 3" is ripping you off, no matter how well intentioned or, conversely, how well they spin it.

There are no exceptions here.

Save your donations until an official crowdfunding campaign is launched by Sega or Yu Suzuki. Until then, you are throwing your dollar bills at the wall, and some banner waving opportunist is picking them up.

Even faced with the likelihood that an official crowdfunding campaign may never come along, we urge you not to encourage private, speculative collections in the name of Shenmue.

Be sensible, and steer well clear.

Yeah, I've seen a few tweets and fb postings where people were asking for some type of funding. I'm amazed a Prince from Nigeria has been sending emails about shenmue investments.

Don't be fooled. That guy works for Lan Di. Any money you donate goes directly to funding a reinforced gate over the cave entrance.
