Crimes and Puishments is on sale atm on Steam for your information. Probably not quite decent enough for ya yet, though, James. When i see it in a bundle next Autumn or so, I'll let ya know.

I'd be getting it on 360/PS3 anyway, since my PC's too elementary for anything meatier than Google Chrome.

Next console ya get, James, build yourself a PC instead. By the time you get around to it you'll likely be able to build something twice as powerful as a next gen system for 400 bucks.

There have always been more console-only games that I want to play than PC-only, and fortunately the latter tend to be pretty low spec.

I just added into my list:
Code: [Select]
PS2:
 - Fantavision

PC:
 - The Longest Journey

Yesterday, my eye caught The Unfinished Swan on sight. It seems interesting.

Im gonna see if they have that i stock this black friday. I saw it listed on a few ads.

I started playing sunset overdrive yesterday and its freaking cool as heck. Sucks since i only popped it in to complete a challenge that ends tonight. I was currently playing max and the curse of brotherhood so i didn't want to just put it on hold...but i cant wait to play some more. I think like the creatures in the game, i od'd too.

I want to play this NES game I heard about recently on Facebook. Ostensibly it's a spin-off from the marvellous Takeshi's Castle, but has little in common with the TV show apart from being absolutely bonkers and near impossible to win. It seems to have been designed with the same sadistic mentality as the Desert Bus mini-game by Penn & Teller, but with the obscure and unpredictable requirements for success that only gamers of the 1980s will have any sympathy for.

It's much more sadistic then Desert Bus. The game really should have been titled Beat Takeshi Telling Gamers to Go Fuck Themselves.

Some day when I have a platform that runs it, I'll be interested in playing The Talos Principle. It sounds like something fans of Portal will enjoy.

I never thought I'd say it, but I've actually got my eye on the next Final Fantasy game.

Turn-based battles are the furthest thing from "my thing" that a thing could ever be, so the vast majority of RPGs pass me by. Everything else about the genre presses my buttons, but the fact my button presses don't immediately and directly affect my character during combat spoils the pudding for me.

So the news that Final Fantasy XV will eschew tradition and give the player direct control in fisticuffs makes my hair stand to attention like, well, every Square Enix character in the company's history.

When there's fighting to be done, I want to get in there and get my hands dirty. When I press X, I want that to translate into my character's knuckles passing through someone else's teeth, or at least my sword clanging against their shield. I don't want to play general, issuing commands for my soldiers to carry out at whatever scheduled interval battlefield etiquette dictates.

So I'm hoping this will be a chance to play my first Final Fantasy (...) and enjoy the other parts of the game that probably seem old hat to everyone else by now.

Although I seem to recall talk of a controversial change in Final Fantasy XII's combat system. Can anyone tell me if that's what I've been looking for all along? Or was it not quite arcadey enough for the tastes I've described?

I'm interested in the next FF game too. Looks awesome. I'm just trying to avoid looking too much into it, to avoid falling for hype. Same with Uncharted 4.

I'd say yes and no. Well, in truth, it's probably not arcadey enough for your tastes. It is real time, but from what I recall, you don't really control you're characters like you would in an action game or something. It's more like you select a course action for your character to follow and then sort of straddle around the enemy while your character keeps automactically performing that course of action, and it's all in real time. Or something like that, sorry for the crappy description. So yeah, not really arcadey in truth, but probably more exciting than the turn based battles for you, and it is a really superb game. Easily one best FF games made to date, quite underrated in my opinion.
