My Greek friends made a Shenmue music video.
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:16:15 AM »
My Greek friends and Shenmue fans over at Tech With Coffee, made a Shenmue Reflections music video. :)

Please be nice, it's their first endeavour on anything like that. :D

P.S.: And I don't get many videos from greek Shenmue fans to watch (actually it's the only Shenmue video from greek fans out there...), so that's a plus!

Νίκαια! Beautifully done. :)

And well done Giorgio for bridging the linguistic divide. The importance of making connections and pooling resources across language barriers cannot be understated. We all know what's happening in the English-speaking part of the Shenmue fanbase but we have precious little collaboration with fans in other parts of the world. The recent work of fan translators to provide a combined English, Spanish and German patch for "What's Shenmue?" is an important step to spreading the series' popularity, but we need to keep everyone talking to each other if we're going to make the campaign for Shenmue's revival as global as it needs to be.

A really nice video! While it seems kind of random, the Youtube translate feature found in a lot of videos would have been helpful at the beginning. The service can be pretty wonky and humorous, really, but it is better than nothing, and i think a vital component of people across the world sharing things with each other like this. Ask them if they can find an option maybe to turn it on?

I told them and now they have add custom English subtitles! ;) (They will also do it and for any other future video of theirs from now on. Thanks for the tip, Stare!)

Disclaimer: obviously not a Shenmue video; but: 1) it's from the same people, 2) it's about a game you most likely like or is one of your favourites, 3) maybe not a new topic is needed. Finally, a decision with the noblest of intentions! And, without further ado... enjoy!

Did they write these lyrics for it? There aren't any in the game, unless they're in the manual or somewhere on the website.

I can't overstate how much I love To the Moon, and the use of music is a critical reason why. This tune, for example, is a great example of the way music is woven into the story. The first time this song is introduced by name, there are notes missing and it sounds disturbing and odd. Everything certainly isn't alright, and that reflects the state of the game world at that moment. It's only when things get resolved and we relive the same moment in its desired form that we hear the complete, melodic version of this tune because now, everything is indeed alright.

Or is it? Those who haven't already will need to play the game to find out for sure...

Hi James the song exists in the retail version of the game. There is a soundtrack CD and the song is included. You can buy the soundtrack from Steam as well :) The reason i know this song is because i was looking for great soundtracks from various games :) When i heard this song i bought the game!

Not a music video this time, but one that tries to explain and pour out the love for Shenmue! It also comes with English subtitles. :)
