I've been thinking about this a lot recently and I've come to the conclusion that it's best to leave Yu Suzuki to do it the way he thinks it should be done. Even if that means no closure for Shenmue fans in 3. If it's not a success, then we can campaign for a Shenmue anime or something :)

As you can see from my first post above, I was pretty torn about it (and probably still am a little bit) but now I'm leaning towards the idea of him making it the way it was always intended as that is the story we really want.

Cool vids guys! You can really see how much this game means to people around the world :)

I didn't watch it live. I never do watch them actually. Thought about it this year because of the forklift tweet but had to go to bed cos I was wrecked and had to be up for work in the morning. Got a call in the middle of the night about it. Went to my computer. Pledged on kickstarter and went back to bed with a smile on my face :)

Well, after reading and watching stuff for about an hour full of excitement :)

In a recent Reddit Q&A session, Yu Suzuki said:

I'm torn about this. While I'd love there to be more then one one Shenmue game and see the story unfold as Yu originally intended, I'm petrified that we'll end up in the same situation we've been in for the last 14 years if it's not a commercial success. I truly believe it could be and will be a success... but if it isn't, we're in trouble. And it'll be worse than before because people will be like "We/you tried and it didn't work, forget about it".

Guess he could always finish the story as a comic or anime if that does happen.

One hopes that they see the sense behind the HD remakes. But could they do it 100% without input from the Shenmue team? Only thing worse for Shenmue popularity amongst the wider gaming community then no Shenmue 1+2 would be bad Shenmue 1+2.

Okay. I'm all for a call to action for the kickstarter. But I'd still like to know the wording whenever it's decided if that's okay? I like to know what I'll be tweeting.

One important thing is that we don't annoy Sony or Sega. They've already been very helpful thus far. Sega didn't turn out to be that bad after all. They were just scared.  And though they shouldn't have been. It's understandable.
