Shenmue Chat / New Shenmue documentary trailer
« on: July 07, 2015, 11:53:53 AM »
Looks good! Should really help with spreading awareness. Would be great if it was out before the 17th but should still be good to get people to know about Shenmue before 3's release.

I'm sure some here have seen this already but thought I'd post it here for anyone that hasn't. It really brings a smile to your face :)

Shenmue Chat / To complete story in 3 or not

In a recent Reddit Q&A session, Yu Suzuki said:

If the fans are not happy with 3 there will not be a 4. So I please hope we can together make this game the best it can be.

I'm torn about this. While I'd love there to be more then one one Shenmue game and see the story unfold as Yu originally intended, I'm petrified that we'll end up in the same situation we've been in for the last 14 years if it's not a commercial success. I truly believe it could be and will be a success... but if it isn't, we're in trouble. And it'll be worse than before because people will be like "We/you tried and it didn't work, forget about it".

Guess he could always finish the story as a comic or anime if that does happen.

Your thoughts on this subject guys?

Shenmue Chat / Sega withdraws from making console games
« on: May 18, 2015, 12:24:54 AM »

Got this bad news from my brother today.

This could either mean the end of the Shenmue III dream... or a new hope if they're now more prepared to relinquish the licence.

Is there something we can do? Any ideas?

Shenmue Chat / Attitude towards Sega
« on: January 04, 2015, 11:44:48 PM »
Okay, so there's no doubt in my mind that Sega treat their fans badly. That incident where they had a PowerPoint slide mocking fans for their common questions was a disgrace and, had I been there, I think I would have walked out.

Having said that, I'm sure they're not all bad. My experience working in a few places has taught me that there's always good guys and bad guys in any company. And, I suppose you can't blame them entirely for wanting to be cautious about Shenmue from a financial point of view.

Now, I'm as annoyed at their reluctance to help the Shenmue cause as much as any Shenmue fan but I wonder if sometimes the negative attitude, tweets, memes etc are counter productive? After all, we still need them. There's a saying in Egypt that translates as "If the dog has something you need, call him sir"

What do you guys think?

Shenmue Chat / Blocked by @yosp

I've just discovered that I'm blocked on twitter by @yosp

Has anyone else had this happen to them?  I hope he didn't block me 'cos he got sick of being nagged about Shenmue.  I didn't even tweet him that much  :-\
